Line of Best Fit - Geogebra Technology Lesson
Technology has become an increasingly common element in our constantly changing world. What would we do without cell phones, computers, iPads, etc.? If technology is going to be so present in the lives of students, then let's teach it in the classroom. Programs like Geogebra or Mathematica can show students how math can be done using technology. This lesson, The Line of Best Fit, can be done on Geogebra. Geogebra can take a set of points, graph it, and form a line of best fit, accurately representing data on a scatter plot. This lesson goes into detail about that, first graphing a linear line of best fit, and then a curve of best fit. Lines of best fit are found all around us in real life applications, predicting future values and showing us the average of data points. Therefore, it is beneficial for the students to learn. A worksheet for the lesson is available in the link below.
